A Taste of Mardi Gras: A Neighborhood Celebration

Last week, our neighborhood gathered for A Taste of Mardi Gras, a casual walk-through experience designed to share a little of the color, music, and tradition that make the season so special. Neighbors stopped by throughout the evening, explored the different stations, snapped photos, and picked up a small taste of Carnival along the way. From king cake to keepsakes, the goal was simple: create a moment of connection and bring a little Mardi Gras spirit to the neighborhood. Mardi Gras celebrations take many forms depending on where you are. This one was intentionally light, flexible, and easy to enjoy on a weeknight whether someone stayed for a few minutes or made their way through the full experience. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the evening memorable. Moments like these are what help turn a new tradition into something the community looks forward to. And as Mardi Gras itself arrives today (Feb. 17), it’s a reminder that even far from Louisiana, some Carnival magic can still find its way here. Until next time. 💜💚💛 -Leigh S. Event Lead
